The HITEC Foundation Celebrates the Top 50 Leaders In Latin America, Spain & Portugal.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 9, 2022 – Encora, a global next-gen product engineering provider, today announced Mario Chaves, president, Americas, CSA Division, has been named to the HITEC 50 list of the most influential and notable professionals in the technology industry in LatAm, Portugal, and Spain. With over 40 years of experience in the software industry, Chaves embodies the ideals of the HITEC 50 awards because he has spent the bulk of his career empowering the Latin American technology market.

Starting with the founding of his company, Avantica, in the mid-90s, Chaves opened gaps to position the Latin American region as a provider of Nearshore services. Avantica, which was later acquired by Encora in 2019 and converted into their CSA Division, opened seven development centers: four in Costa Rica, one in Colombia, one in Bolivia, and one in Peru. These expansions helped promote technological innovation within the region and opened hundreds of new opportunities for talent in remote areas.
